The debate on whether to invest in mobile is still being discussed, general consensus is still that all trends point to mobile web traffic taking over desktop at some point in the future. At the moment it is safe to say that almost 50% of all web traffic is from mobile. This should come as no surprise to anyone observing those around you, everyone carries a smart phone, even many children; so excluding mobile in your marketing strategy means missing out on potentially 50% of your audience. Surprisingly enough there are countless active businesses there that don’t even have mobile friendly websites, which we and other marketers feel is the most important and most minimal way to invest.
Don’t invest in mobile.
Take this risk at your own peril. Make no mistake – no business ignoring mobile today will still be alive in five years.
Why do I say that? Look at your customers, employees and friends. They all carry at least one mobile product at all times – their smartphone. If a business ignores mobile today, a competitor will soon enough come up with a mobile offering. Since everyone is on mobile, that competitor will quickly grab market share.
Remember what happened to Kodak, Yahoo and Nokia? They refused to adapt to mobile and the tide quickly turned on them. Denial is someone else’s opportunity. It happens faster than you think.
